You can see that there's practical value in learning more about Home Theater Seating. Can you think of ways to apply what's been covered so far?

Even though there are plenty of entertainment options these days thanks to hi-tech innovations like DVD players and I-pods, baby boomers still crave for those simpler times when going to the movies meant fun at drive-in movie theaters.

The very first outdoor movie screening that led to the invention of the drive-in theatre took place on June 6, 1933, thanks to Richard M. Hollingshead. Hollingshead made good use of the space between trees in his backyard; he hung a white bed sheet between two trees to make a makeshift screen, used the hood of his car to mount a 1928 Kodak projector, and used a radio for sound, which was strategically placed behind the so-called screen.

The 1940s saw drive-in theaters in as many as 27 states across the US, but the maximum number of drive-in theaters in the country reached its peak during the 1950s and 1960s, which is around the same time when most baby boomers first began driving and dating.

The year 1958 saw around 4,063 drive-in theaters in the country, which is the highest number of drive-in theaters in the country, as per the United Drive-in Theater Owners Association. Unfortunately, today only a tenth of these drive-in theaters are operational.

The 1970s and 1980s found thousands of drive-in theaters shutting down, in order to make way for all the new forms of entertainment that were catching on, like television and multiplexes. However, the trend started reversing in the 1990s, with many new drive-in theaters being constructed and the old ones reopening their doors once again.

As your knowledge about Home Theater Seating continues to grow, you will begin to see how Home Theater Seating fits into the overall scheme of things. Knowing how something relates to the rest of the world is important too.
