It is one of China's major tourists' attractions where hundreds of hawkers accost visitors and shove tourist books in their faces, quoting prices with huge margins for bargain. Finally, China is waking up from decades of slumber. Beijing Great Wall---You can take the Line 919 bus to the Badaling Great Wall in Deshengmen. The cost is 12 rmb. This bus takes the high way and it only takes 50 minutes for the trip. "He who has never been to the Great Wall is not a true man." Lots of travellers choose the Great Wall as the first priority for the Beijing travel. Usually, the Great Wall travel will take you 3 or 4 hours. If you wanna see the Ming Tombs too, there are some tips. Summer Palace---If you go, a visit to Peterhof, the summer palace of Peter the Great is a must.As Tanya and I left St. Petersburg for Peterhof, I was in a foul mood. A pickpocket had cut through the bottom of my backpack and swiped my camera. The ferry taking us was packed and the adorable child on my right had just spilled his ice cream down my leg. It is the largest imperial garden in existence in China. The whole Summer Palace covers an area of over 290 hectares including more than 3,000 buildings, such as halls, pavilions, towers and so on. Forbidden City Declared a World Heritage Site in 1987, the Forbidden City was China's Imperial Palace for centuries. It was built in 1406 and completed in 1420. The Imperial Palace housed the Emperor and his household. Commoners could not enter the Forbidden City and it was the center of the political and ceremonial government. Great Wall of China Originally built as a fortification to keep out the invading hordes, the Great Wall is one of the most enduring symbols of Chinese civilization. The Badaling Great Wall is located just over 40 miles north of Beijing.
Tiananmen Square Tiananmen Square is located in the center of Beijing; he mixture of ancient and modern history makes Tiananmen Square a must visit location. A center for student protests in 1989, Tiananmen Square features Tiananmen Tower, Monument to the People's Heroes, Great Hall of the People and the Mao Zedong Memorial Hall.
