testing the geotagger N3

Today, i have tested one of the features of the geotagger N3 which is "the wake up and sleep".

the major steps are following,

1. acquire the GPS single, and then in this status for 3-5 mins

2. turn off the Nikon camera but keep the N3 connecting with the camera

3.observe the unit, write down the period flashing time

it sounds simple to test the gps product but takes time to do it.

Solmeta compatibility of Nikon new members

Long time no update here.

During this period, Nikon has several new babies. D7000, D3100 and D5100. Good news for us, every new model certainly will draw a lot of attention after borning, people discuss, compare and argue, finally some of them will take out their wallet.

What we are most concerned about is the GPS function of these new units. We believe that Nikon will embrace GPS function for all new members. D7000 is the second generation of D90 and D5100 is younger of D5000. For Solmeta geotaggers, they are still compatible with new Nikon. D7000 has the same connection port as D90 but in opposite direction, it looks Nikon made a mistake in D90, all of other connectors are in same direction.

Solmeta's datacables compatibility for Nikon new units:

CA7000 for Nikon D7000, CA5000 for D3100 and D5100.
