Vitiligo is a skin illness with the sign of white patches on dissimilar skin areas, graying of hairs coloration, affected retina of eyes and injured skin mucous membrane layer. The disease affects 40 to 50 million people all over the world which makes 1 to 2 percent of the world’s population. In United States Vitiligo affects 2 to 3 million national people. Thus roughly one individual out of each 136 is affected by vitiligo, which makes .74%

The disease vitiligo can be caused by many reasons. It might be linked up with the

• Heredity
• Immune system disease
• Dietary insufficiency
• Sun burn/ sun exposure
• Usage of chemicals skin products like skin bleaching
• By taking excessive amount of antibiotics
• By wearing dark color cloths in summer etc

But whatever the reason will be the disease is forever connected up with the production of melanin cells in skin. Human body acquires particular cells which are recognized as melanocytes cells. The melanocytes cells are present in the basal layer of the skin and make melanin cells in three dissimilar colors (yellowish, blackish & brownish). The function of melanin cells in skin is the making of pigmentary substances and to protect skin from the sun ultra violet rays.

Due to all over vitiligo causes when the quantity of melanin cells becomes less in skin the skin acquires white patches and spots.

The diagnosis of the vitiligo is not a complicated task. A doctor just by considering white spots/patches on skin can recognize what the disease is? In the early period of the disease the white spots are extremely undersized  and limited to body parts. frequently appearing on those skin areas that are exposed to sun rays the majority of the time such as hands, face, arms, legs etc. other than after sometime the white spots becomes so big that they create spreading all over the body and becomes too large.

 there is no vitiligo cure In United States or all over the world. According to the American Vitiligo Research Foundation-AVRF there is no cure of vitiligo. Vitiligo treatments such as

• Oral psoralen therapy
• Topical psoralen therapy
• Ayurvedic treatment
• Skin transplantation

Skin grafting by blistering etc are just cooperative source of the reproduction of melanin cells in skin but neither of these can cure vitiligo ever.
